About us

Dialog Translations was founded in Oldenburg in December 1991 by Hans Christian von Steuber. A native of Oldenburg (graduated from Altes Gymnasium in 1981), Hans studied Technical Translation at the University of Hildesheim, including three semesters in the US and the UK, before joining translator cooperative InTra eG as a terminologist and translator in 1989.

Our server is located in our office in Oldenburg, Lower Saxony, and not in the cloud, so your data is safe with us. For security reasons, we recommend that you send your texts as ZIP archives, preferably password-protected. This saves storage space (and energy) and offers more protection against unwanted readers than unencrypted Office documents. Professional data backup with multiple redundancy and long-term archiving ensures that your translations are still available even after many years if required.
