From June 16 to 18, WindForce, one of the most important events in the offshore wind industry, took place in Bremerhaven on the grounds of Stahlbau Nord, and we from dialog translations were able to fill the interpreting booths with life for two days with a team of four. As a warm-up exercise, the participants were offered two six-hour excursions to industrial sites in the city and region on Monday. I took part in the city version, where a good twenty participants were able to marvel at the tower production at Steelwind after crossing the Weser by ferry - after all, steel plates are bent into tubes with a diameter of ten meters there. Next on the agenda was a visit to RelyOn, where safety training for offshore technicians is carried out under and above water. The next stop was the hydrogen filling station in Bremerhaven, where the city's hydrogen buses are refueled. This was followed by a visit to the electrolysers, and finally there was an extensive tour of the port by bus along the 4-kilometer quay of Bremerhaven's North Sea terminal - rubbing elbows with 400-meter-long container freighters with over 19,000 containers on board and surrounded by as towering straddle carriers swarmed around us.
As in previous years, the organizer had piled up a sandy beach in front of the halls where visitors could spend their breaks in a beach chair. There was even a football table, perfect for networking and team building.
