Founded in Oldenburg in 1992, the Deutsch-Englische Gesellschaft Oldenburg promotes cultural exchange with Britain. It regularly organizes musical, artistic and theatrical events in Oldenburg and is committed to bringing about an official partnership with the city of Kingston upon Thames. Its president is Dr. Monica Thompson Meyer-Bohlen.
